Subsidence as a result of an underground coal mine is a hazard to human life, properties and environment. This incidence usually occurs over a long period of time which directly or indirectly pertinent with various factors that needs to be carefully considered and systematically analyzed when exploring land subsidence. In reality the relationships among factors, their effects and the subsidence are crucial to have the suitable management plan for the mine-induced ground subsidence around the mining area. In this research, primarily the development of subsidence caused by the extraction of 1203 slice has been evaluated under the profile functions and influence functions methods. The results show that the calculated subsidence profile is almost trough-like subsidence where the maximum amount of subsidence is about 0.89 m. Secondly, based on this result, the analysis on different factors such as the deeper coal bed (420 m depth level) and higher angle of draw (42.5o) show less subsidence which are 0.58 and 0.87 m, respectively, whereas the dip of the coal bed up to 20o does not have significant effect on subsidence. In latter cases, the different preceding scientific papers have been consulted and analyzed for recognizing various influencing factors of subsidence which replicate that the geology and stratigraphic configuration, structural setting of the coal basin, hydro-geological characteristics, less competent nature of overlying rock body, applied mining method, presence of multi-coal seams, ultra thicken coal seam and so on are the major factors in affecting the subsidence event in the area. Moreover, intensive site investigations revealed similar pattern of subsidence and its associated factors around the mine.  相似文献

Free Trade Zones (FTZs) around the world offer special advantages to investors and facilitate import/export of goods in order to boost the regional economy. Integrated coastal management in these areas faces special challenges in addition to what ordinary ICZMs usually encounter. For a successful ICZM plan, the very strong business orientation in FTZs has to be taken into account, while other important aspects such as environmental, social, and cultural issues should not be overlooked. The problem becomes more difficult where the free zone is situated in sensitive and valuable environmental circumstances.Kish Island, a free trade zone in the Persian Gulf region, has recently been the focus of a major ICZM study. In order to address the different needs of various stakeholders in the island, four strategic management plans are prepared. The investigations carried out in the course of this study indicated that the required management plans for this free trade zone should be provided with a spatial-plan-oriented approach, otherwise the integration can hardly be achieved and implemented.This article describes Kish FTZ characteristics and problems that required ICZM initiatives, the methodology for ICZM study, the preparation and implementation of strategic management plans considering the free zone obligations, and the need for a spatial umbrella plan to facilitate the integration among different plans in the implementation process.  相似文献

An ActiveX GPS control is presented which can be used to develop software applications with GPS functionality. It translates the NMEA 0183 interface GPS instructions and triggers event procedures which are used by applications to access the GPS data. It provides position data in the form of geographic coordinates as well as Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) projected coordinates. This control is recommended for the development of general purpose GPS-enabled applications which do not require a high level of accuracy. A Visual Basic project is also included to demonstrate the use of various features of this control. Finally, some real-time software applications are discussed which have been developed using this control. These applications include static point averaging; path tracking; and imagery-based position mapping.  相似文献

The present research makes an effort towards awareness of the impact of underground coal mining on water environment around the Barapukuria coal mining area, Dinajpur by direct field investigation, questionnaire survey and laboratory analysis. For this research, the three foremost errands have been mulled over which are the water level data analysis for 10 years from 2001 to 2011, ground water major parametric analysis and the questionnaire survey on the availability of ground water before and after coal mining operation. The results of field and laboratory analysis show that the characteristics and concentrations of all the major physical and chemical parameters such as pH, EC, Temperature, HCO3 ?, NO3 ?, SO4 2?, Cl?, Na+, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+ and Fe(total) are still tolerable for all purposes and also within the standard limit. On the other hand, the questionnaire survey and water level data analysis confirm almost similar results regarding the depletion of water level. The water level has depleted more than 5 m from 2001 to 2011. Therefore, currently the availability of ground water is normal in the rainy and winter seasons but is slight problematic in the dry season where ground water was available at all times prior to coal mining in the area. From these scenarios, it is comprehensible that the ground water level moves downwards than earlier because of the excess pumping of water from the mine area. Besides the natural recharge condition is not enough and somewhere breaks off while some of the mines out areas are subsided, consequently the upper part of the water bearing formations (aquifer) loses its porous and permeable properties resulting water recharging problem which is directly responsible for depleting the ground water level over the area. Moreover, the water levels will also decline relative to the location, depth, recharge, and discharge conditions of the mine both aerially and vertically while there is a typical relationship between the depth of mining and static water level which is water levels will decline more as the mine goes deeper. Therefore, taking into account the current ground water condition and the depth of Barapukuria coal mine, this research implied that the water level will deplete more in day coming and the water crisis will be more for future. Thus, this research recommends a sustainable guideline for long-term planning and also suggests that regular monitoring with time to time more detail qualitative and quantitative assessments of water bodies in the area.  相似文献

Soil salinity is a major environmental hazard. The global extent of primary and secondary salt affected soils is about 955 and 77 M?ha, respectively. Soil salinity tends to increase in spite of considerable effort dedicated to land reclamation. This requires careful monitoring of the soil salinity status. The objectives of this study were: (a) to evaluate the capability of thematic mapper (TM) and multispectral scanner (MSS) imagery for mapping land cover types, (b) to analyse the spectral features of sail crusts relative to bare soil and gravely soil surface conditions, and (c) to detect the soil salinity changes during the period 1975–2004 in the Ardakan area located in the central Iranian Deserts. The Landsat MSS and TM on two different dates of September 14, 1975 and September 11, 2004, respectively, were used. Due to great confusion between some classes, the TM 6 was included in the band combination. The result of the image classification based on the combination of TM bands 3, 4, 5, and 6 showed of the classification results. For multi-temporal analysis, both TM and MSS images were classified with the same method but with a different number of training classes. The TM-classified image was regrouped to make it comparable with MSS regrouped classified image. The comparison between the classified images showed about 39% of the total area had changed in 29 years. The objective of this study was to characterize the morphological and magnetic properties of Sari loess-paleosol section in northern Iran for paleopedologic and paleoenvironmental interpretation. The section consisted of a modern soil(MS) and three paleosols(PS_1, PS_2, PS_3) separated by loess layers(LS_1, LS_2 and LS_3). Based on particle size distribution, clay mineralogy, carbonates distribution and size of secondary carbonates, pedogenic development of the soils was in order of PS_3PS_2PS_1=MS. Presence of redoximorphic features in PS_3 was attributed to alternate stagnic saturation due to local water or high precipitation. Dominance of smectite and vermiculite as well as large carbonated dolls in PS_3 indicated suitable environment and sufficient time for pedogenic development. Magnetic properties(χ~(lf) and χ~(fd)%) were distinctly higher in MS, PS_1 and PS_2 when compared to loess layers. The Lowest magnetic properties values were observed in PS_3 which can be the result of ferrimagnetic minerals destruction under hydromorphic conditions. The highest Fe_d content occurred in PS_3, however, low χ~(lf)/Fe_d ratio indicated that majority of the iron minerals in PS_3 are not magnetic. In conclusion, the particle size distribution, clay mineralogy and carbonates features were indicative of pedogenesis intensity, whereas, magnetic properties were useful to characterize the pedogenic environment.  相似文献

Usually for modeling of soil in a direct soil–structure interaction (SSI) problem, the equivalent linear soil properties are used. However, this approach is not valid in the vicinity of a foundation, where the soil experiences large strains and a high level of nonlinearity because of structural vibrations. The near-field method was developed and described in a companion paper to overcome this limitation. This method considers the effects of large strains and suggests a shear modulus and a damping ratio further modified in the near-field of a foundation. Validity and performance of this approach are evaluated, application examples are explained and the results of a parametric study about the role of soil and structure parameters in the extent of SSI effects on the nonlinear seismic response of structures are presented in this paper. One real existing and five, ten, fifteen and twenty story moment-resisting frame steel buildings with two different site conditions corresponding to firm and soft soils are considered and the responses obtained from the near-field method are compared with the recorded and rigorous responses. Moreover, various SSI modeling techniques are employed to investigate the accuracy and performance of each approach. The results show that the near-field method is a simple yet accurate enough approach for analysis of direct SSI problems.  相似文献

In this study a new method for nonlinear static analysis based on the relative displacements of stories is proposed that is able to be implemented in a single stage analysis and considers the effects of an arbitrary number of higher modes. The method is called the extended drift pushover analysis procedure (EDPA). To define the lateral load pattern, values of the relative displacements of stories are calculated using the elastic modal analysis and the modal combination factors introduced. For determining the combination factors, six different approaches are examined. Buildings evaluated in this study consist of four special steel moment-resisting frames with 10–30 stories. Responses including relative displacements of stories, story shear forces and rotation of plastic hinges in each story are calculated using the proposed approaches in addition to modal pushover analysis and nonlinear dynamic time history analyses. The nonlinear dynamic analysis is implemented using ten consistent earthquake records that have been scaled with regard to ASCE7-10. Distribution of response errors of story shears and plastic hinge rotations show that a major part of error corresponds to the second half of the buildings studied. Thus, the mentioned responses are corrected systematically. The final results of this study show that implementing the EDPA procedure using the third approach of this research is able to effectively overcome the limitations of both the traditional and the modal pushover analyses methods and predict the seismic demands of tall buildings with good accuracy.  相似文献

This paper presents a new direct modeling approach to analyze 3D dynamic SSI systems including building structures resting on shallow spread foundations. The direct method consists of modeling the superstructure and the underlying soil domain. Using a reduced shear modulus and an increased damping ratio resulted from an equivalent linear free-field analysis is a traditional approach for simulating behavior of the soil medium. However, this method is not accurate enough in the vicinity of foundation, or the near-field domain, where the soil experiences large strains and the behavior is highly nonlinear. This research proposes new modulus degradation and damping augmentation curves for using in the near-field zone in order to obtain more accurate results with the equivalent linear method. The mentioned values are presented as functions of dimensionless parameters controlling nonlinear behavior in the near-field zone. This paper summarizes the semi-analytical methodology of the proposed modified equivalent linear procedure. The numerical implementation and examples are given in a companion paper.  相似文献
